Integration
Connect your own software to WhatsApp
Any system can use a WAQR connection with an API key and the permissions you grant it. Send and receive messages, query conversations and receive signed webhooks.
How to integrate it
- 1
Create an API key
From the WAQR dashboard, under Developers. Pick the permissions: read messages, send, read contacts or receive webhooks.
- 2
Authorize the key on a number
Each key only reaches the connections you authorize it for. You can revoke it at any time.
- 3
Send your first message
A POST request to /v1/connections/{id}/messages with an idempotency key. The response carries the message id and its status.
- 4
Receive events
Register a webhook endpoint. WAQR signs every delivery with HMAC and retries if your server does not respond.
Questions about Your software
Do I need approval from WhatsApp or Meta?
No. WAQR connects through WhatsApp Web; you start whenever you want. In exchange, you must follow WhatsApp's terms: no spam or bulk sending to people who have not given you permission.
Are there sending limits?
Yes. Each plan has an API request limit per minute and WAQR applies per-connection sending limits to protect your number. Your plan's values are shown on pricing and in the dashboard.
Can I use the same key for several of my customers?
If you are an agency or a SaaS, each of your customers needs their own WAQR account and must authorize your application. Write to us and we will walk you through the linking flow.
Is there an SDK?
The API is REST and works from any language. A TypeScript SDK is in preparation; in the meantime, the examples on the developers page work with curl or fetch.
Your WhatsApp should not be isolated from your systems.
Connect it once and use it wherever you need it.
